How a Navigation Day Unfolds

Every course is shaped around you — your current skills, your goals, and the terrain on the day. No two sessions are identical, but here's the shape of a typical experience.

Book a Course
01

Pre-Course Consultation

Before your day, we have a brief conversation about your current experience level, what you want to achieve, and any terrain preferences. This shapes the entire session.

02

Map Study & Briefing

We start on the ground with a focused briefing — reviewing the day's terrain on the map, setting objectives, and covering any foundational theory you'll need for the conditions ahead.

03

Practical Exercises on the Hill

The bulk of the day is spent moving through real terrain, practising techniques as they arise naturally. Skills are taught in context — not in isolation.

04

Solo Navigation Challenges

At the appropriate stage, you'll navigate independently while your instructor observes and gives feedback. This is where skills become instincts.

05

Debrief & Progression Plan

At the end of the day, we review what was covered and discuss the logical next steps for your development — whether that's a follow-on course or specific self-directed practice.
